400 years of publishing success!

Carol Rahn spoke on the 400 year history since the publishing of the King James Bible. She also discussed the political and religious controversy that surrounded this edition that was authorized by the King. Carol pointed out that the Puritans who came to the new world were not enamored by the language nor its tone. She discussed how allegiances and the needs of the Puritan community in the USA changed the acceptance of this work.

Everyone went away in thoughtful amazement of the historical and political background they gleaned from this speakers insightful delivery.

Food For Fines

The Pioneer Memorial Library donated a truck load of food to the Thomas County Food Bank after their Christmas, Food for  Fines Campaign!

Each year patrons can bring in food to pay for overdue fines. This way after Christmas we help boost the Thomas County Food Banks supplies and we have happy patrons that start afresh in the new year with no fines on their accounts.

~~~~ A win-win situation! ~~~
