AWE Literacy Computer - Grant Through Pete Henry Foundation!

Four (4) AWE computers were added to the Pioneer Memorial Library due to the generous grant of the Pete Henry Foundation. We have been told by parents and seen children's joy increase as they work on these all-in-one computers that have over 70 different types of learning software.

One four year old was using an AWE computer for the first time with guidance from the parent and she exclaimed. This is awesome. Other parents have said they love the way this allows even their little biddy's use computers since they have touch screen. One young child loved to come in and use the simple Paint software daily.

Chocolate And All That Jazz! Rocks to Library!

The 2nd Annual Chocolate And All That Jazz was held at the Pioneer Memorial Library on February 14, 2012!

Together the community celebrated Valentines Day with great jazz music provided by the Colby Community College Jazz Band, and the Colby Community College Sunflower Singers!

Patrons of the community came to enjoy a table full of scrumptious deserts and listen to the fabulous songs and music.

We filled our tables, added chairs and then soon only had standing room. But what a wonderful way to share a day dedicated to expressing love to others!

It was evident to the audience that Nick loves mountain climbing and is intimately acquainted with the sport. He not only shared from experience, but information researched about climbing Mount Everest. He showed pictures of the harsh environment on the mountains of Tibet. Nick segued his struggle with reading and keeping his interest in reading personally right into the topic of boys and young men's reading genres. He also encouraged the audience to help their children and grandchildren to find resources that guys will read from an online source "guysread.com."
